About The Course

This module looks at the first aid response to illness, focusing on the principles of safety to the first aider and the injured person. A number of key incidents are reviewed including; fracture, heart attack, anaphylaxis, seizure, blood loss, and choking.This course does not cover basic life support or CPR.

  • Follow the guidance of your organisational policy in relation to First Aid at Work
  • Prioritise the safety of yourself and others before embarking on any first aid related activity
  • Identify the proper procedures required for a variety of medical emergencies
  • Understand the importance of ensuring expert help is alerted to the incident as soon as possible
  • Assist and support in administering first aid when a co-worker or member of the public is injured
  • Do no further harm to the victim and keep yourself and others safe at all times
  • This course does not cover basic life support or CPR.
